This Is Your Brain On Drugs

This is your brain on drugs: a stimulating discussion on street drugs from chemistry to cognition

This taste of science event is held in collaboration with the Addiction, Research, Treatment and Training (ARTT) Center of Excellence at UT Health San Antonio as well as the 12th annual meeting of Behavior, Biology, and Chemistry (BBC): Translational Research in Addiction.

Join us as we feature three addiction researchers in a lively discussion about the science behind drug addiction. We have invited three addiction researchers to share their work on tackling drug addiction.

Co-hosted with ARTT

The mission of the ARTT Center of Excellence is to promote addiction research, treatment, and training at UT Health San Antonio and facilitate the translation of discoveries in basic science to clinical care. ARTT brings together a diverse group of scientists, clinicians, and educators in order to identify and develop novel behavioral and pharmacological approaches to treating addiction. The BBC conference is a two-day scientific meeting that focuses on translational aspects of addiction research among chemists, biologists, and behavioral scientists. The diversity of participants and attendees at this meeting provides a unique venue for interaction among different disciplines and in so doing promotes new and innovative approaches to medications discovery and development in addictions biology.
